Background

MGA were engaged to provide a variety of Quantity Surveying services on the project including Claims Evaluation, AFC remeasures and estimating.

The Binningup Desalination Plant project was being undertaken by the SSJV on behalf of Water Corporation WA to ensure that the integrity of the potable water supply can be maintained in the face of a drying climate.

The SSJV were engaged by Water Corporation WA on a Design, Construct and Operate contract for a period of 25 years.

The project was being constructed in two phases to provide an ultimate capacity of 100GigaLitres/annum of fresh drinking water to the Perth Metropolitan Area. On completion of the project, the Water Corporation will be able to provide up to 50% of the Perth Metropolitan Region from climate independent sources.

WHAT WE DID

To complete the claim assessment and AFC re-measures within the timeframes allowed by the client to ensure that they were able to achieve their reporting dates.

MGA completed the civil works and structural steel remeasures for all the main building structures on Phase 1 of the project.

HOW IT TURNED OUT

The work was completed on time and within the budgets set and this allowed the Joint Venture to finalise the agreements with their sub-contractors on the basis of the information provided.

Due to our experience gained on this type of project it has led to MGA being engaged on projects of a similar nature with other Major Clients.
